Q1 2021 Android Virtual Pet Apps Performance in the UK

In the first quarter of 2021, the virtual pet category saw interesting trends across the top five apps on the Android platform in the United Kingdom. Data from Sensor Tower provides a closer look at these performances, with a focus on downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.

My Talking Tom Friends, released by Outfit7 Limited, showed a fluctuating revenue trend, starting at $547K and peaking at $820K in the last week of March. Downloads began at 17.9K, dipping to 11.9K by the end of March, while weekly active users decreased from 219K to 215K in the same period.

Another popular app from Outfit7 Limited, My Talking Tom 2, saw its revenue begin at $1.8M, with a mid-quarter dip before rising again to $1.4M. The app's downloads started at 14.7K and experienced a decline to 11.1K, whereas weekly active users slightly dropped from 95.8K to 98.3K.

My Talking Angela also experienced a revenue rollercoaster, starting at $493K and reaching $626K by quarter's end. The app's downloads saw a minor decrease from 8.6K to 7.2K, and active users showed a slight decline from 82.7K to 82K.

The original My Talking Tom app's revenue kicked off at $299K, peaking at $418K in mid-February, and ended the quarter at $361K. Downloads were stable, starting at 8.2K and ending at 6.4K, while weekly active users saw a modest decrease from 43.8K to 41K.

Lastly, Gabbys Dollhouse: Games & Cats by Spin Master, Ltd., which had no reported revenue, witnessed a surge in downloads from 274 to a peak of 17.2K, before ending the quarter at 4.4K. Weekly active users mirrored this trend, starting at 1K and reaching a high of 25.3K before closing at 10K.
